How to Use
1) Place the Thunderbolt
in the exact position required.
For example: When splitting wood. Wood must be placed on a hard surface. Always
place the wedge on the outer diameter of the wood.
2) With the thunderbolt in a working position, pull lock lever up. Place rubber band over the top of the power bar. This will maintain the locking cam lever in an unlocked working condition. The power bar is now in the unlocked working position.
3) Hold the power bar with both hands approximately 12" to 18" apart. It is important to find ones' own comfort zone for the exact working position on the power bar. Lifting the power bar to your own lifting range, bring the power bar down striking the tool head.
Please note: the longer the striking stroke combined with the speed over the mass results in greater compression against the tool head, maximizing the Thunderbolt's potential power.
4) Once task is completed, return lock lever to down position.
Changing Heads
1) Before using, both the guide and power bars should be in a locked and carrying position with the locking lever in the down position.
2) Check guide bar nipple and tool head opening to insure they are clean and in proper working order. To protect against possible corrosion and enable ease of tool head changes, apply a lubricant to both the tool head opening and the guide bar nipple with each changeover.
3) Select appropriate tool head. It is necessary to match the correct tool head with the specific job the tool head is designated for. Warranty is null and void should user select and damage inappropriate tool heads.
4) Simply slide the tool head down over the guide bar nipple and align holes. Once alignment is achieved, place hitch pin completely through and lock with attached locking wire.
5) The Thunderbolt is now ready to use.
