This Tool is a great time saver: Contractors are always looking for
new ways to Increase Productivity (save time) and Decrease Liability (reduce
injuries). Manpower is a very precious resource. Having the right Tool
for the right job is essential.
Benefits of using the Thunderbolt:
It allows the Contractor large or small to: A) Choose one of the Twenty one (21) inter- changeable tool heads B) Place the tool head right on the target (tool head never leaves the working surface) C) Than strike the intended target with over 3000 Psi. D) With No Strain on the Back, Legs or Hands2) Thunderbolt and Power Equipment Working Together to Increase Productivity:
All contractors need power tools. Equipment such as Skid steers (Bobcat), Jack hammers (electric or compressed air), Tampers (Plate or Drum), Floor scrapers (Kenga), are all essential power equipment needed by contractors to do their jobs efficiently.
The Thunderbolt Will Make all Power Tools More Effective:
Skid Steer: Most Landscaping construction companies will have a skid steer with an hydraulic post hole auger. These two pieces of equipment can cost tens of thousands of dollars. The operators of these pieces of equipment are skilled and paid accordingly. Every hour that this machinery is not working is lost money.
With The Thunderbolt
Working With The Skid Steer:
While digging postholes. If the post auger hits a root or rock, the
auger will stop. This prevents damage to the auger. However it is
very difficult to remove
down hole obstructions (roots, rocks) with conventional tools (shovel,
spud bar). The time lost because of this is considerable.
The Thunderbolt with the Trencher attachment can be placed down hole on the root and than the Power and Accuracy of the Thunderbolt takes over. Removing the root or rock with half the time or effort. Allowing the expensive machinery to work much more efficiently.
*NOTE: The same logic applies to the use of the typical two (2) man gas driven post auger. Rented at your local tool rental store. The Thunderbolt makes the auger much more efficient and saves money on expensive repairs.
Floor Equipment: Most Flooring industry contractors will have an electric machine of some design to remove large areas of old lino, tile, carpet. Depending what their budget is. These machines cost thousands of dollars. Plus these machines have difficulty operating in confined areas (under stairways, closets, hard to reach corners),
With The Thunderbolt
Working With The Power Floor Machine:
Use the power floor machine in all the open areas. These machines
work best when traveling in a straight line. In high traffic areas
old lino
can be very
difficult to remove. To man-handle the heavier electric models
trying to work it back and forth over these tough areas takes a lot
of energy.
Use
the Thunderbolt.
Following behind the machine, when it hits a difficult patch let
it continue on in a straight line. Tackle the tough and hard to
reach areas such
as under stairs or closets. You will maximize your equipment time
and
man
hours in cleanup
time.
*NOTE- The Lightning Bolt with it’s attachable blade makes floor and tile scrapping much easier on the back and hands. Keep this in mind for those, small home renovations, bathrooms, family rooms are all projects the Do It Yourself customer will do.Tamping Equipment: Must construction companies, will have several types of powered tampers ( plate, drum, J-tamper). These pieces of equipment are used in all types of conditions and locations around a job site. Many areas have limited access. In these types of situations use the Thunderbolt. If you build structures to last, you need a strong foundation to build from.
With The Thunderbolt
Working With Power Tampers:
When building brick patios, side walks, driveways plate or drum
tampers are used to compact the major areas of the job site.
However if you
want your work
to last all hard to reach areas must be tamped thoroughly.
Look at any older brick job, it is all the hard to reach areas that
have
shifted and slide away
allowing the whole area to separate and fall apart. Who goes
back and fixes these areas? Use the Thunderbolt in all those
hard to
reach areas
tamp
them sufficiently and enjoy many years of use.
Tips On Renting
Tips on Renting: Post hole augers (two man gas powered verity), Plate tampers, power floor scrapers, are all rented on a regular bases. The Thunderbolt should be an add-on sale, when renting these pieces of power equipment. The reasons for this, is stated in the previous section. Additional rental information will be added from the Home Depot rental ackage
Summary of previous section:
The benefits of renting the Thunderbolt with these pieces of equipment are as follows: A) Customer service: By helping your customers complete their projects quicker and safer with less effort. Makes for a happier customer. B) Reduce Repairs: Most rental customers are relatively inexperienced operators of power tools. Most damage is done through this inexperience. The Thunderbolt is so easy to use that all your customers will see the benefits renting it with the power tools. Also the rental companies will have less repair costs, do to over use and inexperienced operators.
How to Use
1) Place the Thunderbolt
in the exact position required.
For example: When splitting wood. Wood must be placed on a hard surface. Always
place the wedge on the outer diameter of the wood.
2) With the thunderbolt in a working position, pull lock lever up. Place rubber band over the top of the power bar. This will maintain the locking cam lever in an unlocked working condition. The power bar is now in the unlocked working position.
3) Hold the power bar with both hands approximately 12" to 18" apart. It is important to find ones' own comfort zone for the exact working position on the power bar. Lifting the power bar to your own lifting range, bring the power bar down striking the tool head.
Please note: the longer the striking stroke combined with the speed over the mass results in greater compression against the tool head, maximizing the Thunderbolt's potential power.
4) Once task is completed, return lock lever to down position.
Changing Heads
1) Before using, both the guide and power bars should be in a locked and carrying position with the locking lever in the down position.
2) Check guide bar nipple and tool head opening to insure they are clean and in proper working order. To protect against possible corrosion and enable ease of tool head changes, apply a lubricant to both the tool head opening and the guide bar nipple with each changeover.
3) Select appropriate tool head. It is necessary to match the correct tool head with the specific job the tool head is designated for. Warranty is null and void should user select and damage inappropriate tool heads.
4) Simply slide the tool head down over the guide bar nipple and align holes. Once alignment is achieved, place hitch pin completely through and lock with attached locking wire.
5) The Thunderbolt is now ready to use.
Safety Tips
Always wear safety glasses, bystanders should also wear safety glasses.
Before using or transporting, insure power bar is in full contact with tool head and in locked position.
This tool should not be struck by or against an equally hard or harder object (such as a hammer, sledge or maul) or chipping may occur causing eye or bodily injury.
When using the THUNDERBOLT keep all hands and feet away from both the impact zone of the tool head and the area in which the power bar and the tool heads meet.
Handle with care and avoid dropping.
